Frequently asked questions
Under Australian law, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) strictly prohibits the advertising of prescription-only medications to the public. This is designed to protect patients, ensuring that treatments are prescribed based strictly on medical need rather than commercial marketing.
Because of these regulations, we cannot list specific drug names or pricing on our website. However, during your consultation, we can have a full, transparent discussion about all available treatment options and their associated costs.
Our goal is to make your testing as affordable as possible. To do this, we assess your specific symptoms during the consultation to see if you are eligible for Medicare (MBS) rebates.
Because MBS eligibility is strictly based on your individual medical history, we cannot predict the exact cost until we speak with you.
Don't worry—if you are not eligible for rebates, we will work with you to tailor the testing list so it fits exactly what you want and your specific budget.
Many patients come to us feeling unheard or told their results are "normal" despite still feeling unwell. Standard GPs are essential, but they are often restricted by Medicare (MBS) claiming guidelines, which limit testing strictly to acute symptoms or specific diseases.
At The Biomarker Clinic, we are not restricted by these limitations. We listen to your full story and tailor a testing plan based on your goals and optimisation, not just the narrow criteria allowed by the public system.
Simply book a Free Discovery Call.
We will assess your symptoms, goals, and demographics to provide an overview of the tests we recommend and the pricing.
We then email you a pathology request form after you have completed the payment.
You can then choose to have your sample collected at The Biomarker Clinic in Hawthorne, Brisbane, or visit any of the 1,300 Australian Clinical Labs collection centers nationwide.
Standard Medicare funding restricts testing to "medically necessary" investigations for acute symptoms. Since our focus is on optimising your health beyond the standard "normal" range, this level of detailed care is not funded by the public system.
This private model ensures we can provide a fully tailored plan without administrative limitations, giving you access to medical treatment you might not be getting at your GP.
This depends on your specific treatment plan. Generally, we recommend a "Follow-Up Consultation" when you are due for a prescription renewal or if you wish to adjust your dosage.
For most patients, we also advise repeating blood tests every 3 months to track your biomarkers and ensure your treatment is working effectively.
